Encephalitis referred as injury directly to Brain tissue by a bacterial or viral infection. Symptoms involved are fever and headache, altered consciousness, focal neurologic signs, or seizures. [a] Encephalitis may be the result of bacterial, viral, fungal and protozoal infections. Bacterial Encephalitis: Bacterial infection of the brain substance is usually secondary to involvement of the meninges rather than a primary bacterial parenchymal infection. This results in bacterial cerebritis that progresses to form brain abscess. However, tuberculosis and neurosyphilis are the two primary bacterial involvements of the brain parenchyma. Correction Pen Magic

B. Pharm, S.P.E.R, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi Race With Dreams! © 2015-2016 The humble correction pen used to mask typos in printed or written text is all set to assume a new avatar. It could soon become an important component in fabrication of paper-based diagnostic kits. Paper is becoming popular among experts in miniaturisation and micro fluidics because of its ability to transport fluids through capillary action. It is also biodegradable, biocompatible and low cost. Using paper, scientists are developing analytical devices in association with fluorescence, colorimetric and electrochemical detection systems. Its porosity makes paper easy to load a reagent needed for diagnostic tests. But the reagent needs to be confined to a specific area on the device using certain barriers. Normally such barriers can be fabricated using techniques like photolithography, flexography, plasma treatment, inkjet or screen printing. All these techniques require expert manpower and are time c...

The ultimate trend setter

Yeah! You guys read it correctly. Actually, this year's GPAT examination was a little bit unpredictable.  Overall the exam was not a walnut shell but on the very far end, it is also true that most of the students were unaware of this type of pattern.  Actually this year NTA conducted GPAT examination on the same facet of other competitive exams. NTA raised several questions directly from the surface but as the students were unaware of such thing, they used to prepare for the exam very similar to last years pattern. A very few students get able to reach that point in the exam that they could say it confidently that they would definitely able to overcome such an exam. Questions were asked from several untouched topics such as Physical chemistry and thermodynamics. Questions from Pharmacognosy were few. Pharmacology also contained some questions from general Anatomy and Physiology. P harmaceutical chemistry was pretty much decent. At the last but not the least I would like to say...

A draft report released by Health Canada, the government department looking after public health, on December 5, 2018, said it found that inhaling loose talc powders can damage the lungs. Using products containing talc in the female genital area, like baby powder, diaper creams and bath bombs is a possible cause of ovarian cancer, the report said. It added that the assessment did not find that ingesting talc in food or drugs or using it in pressed powder cosmetics like eyeshadows and blushes was harmful. The department has asked for comments over the draft findings. In fact, in July 2018, cosmetics manufacturer Johnson & Johnson paid 22 women in the US nearly $4.7 billion in a lawsuit linking baby powder to ovarian cancer. Africa will be sett...
